We’ve partnered with many realtors to help make the home buying experience a great one.
Below are some frequently asked questions we’ve received from many realtors.
What is your Risk Management Newsletter?
The risk management newsletter is a weekly newsletter written by H.L. “Rye” Tuten, III. Mr. Tuten spent the first nine (9) years of his legal career defending a wide variety of professionals, including real estate agents and real estate brokers. Mr. Tuten draws on his years of experience as a defense attorney in preparing the weekly risk management newsletters. The newsletters are designed to educate realtors on how to better represent clients and they also provide recommendations on how realtors can minimize their risk of litigation. How do I sign up for your risk management newsletter?

How long do your closings last?
In our closings, we make every effort to create a fun and friendly atmosphere. We briefly explain each document being signed and answer any questions asked. Our “purchase” transactions usually take about 45 minutes to complete and our “refinance” transactions usually take about 30 minutes to complete, but if a buyer or refinancer needs additional time to examine or discuss the documents, we will happily accommodate them.
Who will be my closer?
Tuten Title currently has four (4) closing teams, each consisting of a Pre-Closer and a Closer. Our teams are as follows: Trina Fanguy, Closer and Lindsey Pitre, Pre-Closer; Courtney Guidry, Closer and Courtney Kelly, Pre-Closer; and Laurel Grandon, Closer and Kristel Deese, Pre-Closer. Closing Teams are assigned by our Closing Coordinator and Client Liaison, Gina Reese, in numerical or “round robin” order. If you would like a particular closer to handle your file, please advise Ms. Reese and we will ensure that your request is satisfied.
Who will be my attorney?
Tuten Title has three (4) attorneys: H.L. “Rye” Tuten, III, Margo Dugas, and Douglas Daigle, and Meghan Young-Duplantis in our Lafayette office and David Groner in our New Iberia location. Just like the assignment of closers, attorneys are also assigned by our Closing Coordinator, Gina Reese, in numerical or “round robin” order. If you would like a particular attorney to handle your file, please advise Ms. Reese and we will ensure that your request is satisfied.
Who do I contact for questions that arise prior to or after closing?
For any questions that arise prior to or after closing, please contact your assigned closer. The closer may be able to answer your question. If the closer is unable to answer your question, the closer will ensure the attorney assigned to handle your file provides a timely answer to your question. What if my buyer or seller will be out of town on the day of closing? If your buyer or seller will unable to be present on the day of closing, please advise us as soon as possible and we will prepare a Power of Attorney giving a designated agent authority to sign on behalf of the buyer or seller.
